Thanks to my partnership with the Tampa Bay Bloggers, I was given free tickets and parking at the Valspar Championship. This has not effected this post, however.
All opinions in this post are my own.
On Sunday, March 12, 2017, my husband and I got to attend the final day of the Valspar Golf Championship. Little fun fact, I’m terrible at golf, and I never watch it on television, but this would not be the first time I would watch a tournament live in person.
To tell you the truth, few places calm me down as much as golf courses do. It’s honestly why I wish I enjoyed golfing. Perhaps with practice I could learn to love it, but my favorite things about visiting golf courses are:
- Driving the golf cart. Yes, really! lol
- Walking around the course – they are always so pretty.
- Most importantly, the quiet. The expectation is that on a golf course you will be as quiet as possible, and there in lies the allure of them for me.
Here’s the funny thing. Everyone who knows me, knows I’m pretty loud. But, there is something so peaceful about being on a golf course that even I am willing to be a lot more quiet. The feeling of serenity I get on courses like the Innisbrook Golf Resort Copperhead Course where the Valspar Golf Tournament was held – oh man, it’s just pure bliss.
I turn the ringer off my phone, I shut up, and I just take in the sights and sounds of nature. I mean look how beautiful the Copperhead Course at Innisbrook is:
Don’t those images kind of make you want to go for a walk there too? It was just such a lovely day. I mean sure, there was golf, and there was excitement, but my favorite part was the calm. By the end of the day my feet were killing me from all the walking, yet it was magical, and I loved it. I can’t wait for the next excuse to hang out on a golf course!
