Cleaning out my closet turned out to be way more complicated than I expected. Some clothes I was thrilled to get rid of. Others I felt weirdly attached to, even though I have zero interest in fitting into them again.
I get into the clothes I bought just because they fit my bigger body, even when I didn’t actually like them, and how that was really about feeling embarrassed about my size at the time. I also talk about the “fat tax,” the frustrating reality that bigger clothes often cost more, and why I’m holding off on a whole new wardrobe while I’m still changing size.
